The boots are very lightweight, making them perfect for travel. The treads are reasonably well articulated to provide decent grip on muddy trails. Unfortunately it is VERY difficult to put them on and take them off. The rubber grips the foot in the narrow space between leg and foot and pulling them on is a real struggle. My feet are wide and have high arches; perhaps it's easier to put them on for folks with narrow feet and low arches. Curiously one boot is tighter than the other, even though they are equal size (as are my feet...).
