I have used these too go hiking in the snow. I wear them in the rain as well as for cutting trees and cutting wood in the summer as well as in the winter. They are very light, warm for winter, and the rain is not a problem either.Crocs has a confusing sizing system. They have three categories: roomy fit, relaxed fit, and standard fit. I wear size 6 roomy fit, size 7 relaxed fit (and generally 7 in all other brands of shoes), and size 8/9 standard fit. These shoes are standard fit and I got a size 8, which was good length-wise but a bit on the narrower side with wool socks on. I was worried that I needed to exchange for a size 9 (which would be too long), but after walking awhile, the 8 felt comfortable and I decided to keep it. I walked in the snow in 32°F weather for about 2 miles and my feet felt hot, so these shoes are very warm, warmer than my other pair of snow boots with thinsulate rated at -20°. I hope they'll do well when it gets colder too. They're very lightweight and very comfy. I was surprised by how nice the materials felt and looked so I feel that these are definitely a great pair of boots as long as you get the sizing right (the hardest part). The great thing about ordering from Amazon is you get free shipping and returns for shoes/clothing. The shearling stops at the top of the foot and the rest of the boot is padded inside, not sure with what. These boots surpassed my expectations based on the other reviews and I'm very happy with them.I listened to all those who said buy up a size - I did and I"m returning my size 8 for this size 7. They are true to size! They are a little snug around the toes but I had on thin wool socks and they fit beautifully. My regular size in most shoes is a 7 and these fit me perfectly. You won't need to wear super thick socks as these keep your feet plenty warm. These are rubber based and do have some give. After a few hours, they loosened up considerably across my toe area. I LOVE these boots. We got our first snow of the season today and sub freezing temps. I wore these from the moment they came until bedtime. They are comfortable and with the exception of a little stretch once they were warm, they fit like a glove. No rubbing, no blisters, no break in time, and no slipping on a snow covered deck. If your feet are fairly wide...they may feel tighter but if you are of average shoe width, I'd order your regular size and if you are a 1/2 size up to the next whole size. An 8 was way too large for me. Love these boot!!! Bring it on, winter! These are freakin adorable and feel really sturdy. I am 5"2' 118 lbs. I wear between 7.5 and 8. I ordered an 8 and these are snug snug snug with thicker socks, but they feel like a material that will stretch with wear. They are stiff, but they are short boots, so it doesn't bother me. Tall boots that are stiff bug me to no end. Overall, I am in love.Review update 6 months later (5 stars changed to 3 stars):I still love how cute these boots are, but I was wrong about predicting stretch with wear. I have worn these at least 50 times now and they hurt so bad. My heel feels like it is going to split open and my toes feel scrunched together. I usually wear asize 7.5 - 8, my feet are on the slightly wide side, and I bought these in a size 8M. I have tried everything to make these shoes not hurt. I loosen the laces so much that they are only there for aesthetics. I have tried wearing thin socks, regular socks, thick socks, two pairs of thin socks...nothing works. I have to duct tape my heel (beneath my socks) just to wear these. I only wear them because they are really cute, but my heels and my toes hate me by the end of the day.The pros are that they are very sturdy shoes and look like new after 6 months. They are also extremely water proof and have good traction in the snow.Awesome boots. I walk to and from school and work in the winter with my average commute being 2 miles each way. These boots are really light and a great deal for $50. They aren't super bulky or unfashionable either, in my humble opinion. My feet haven't ached once nor have ever been cold or wet even during walks through almost ankle-deep puddles and slushy snow. I live in Bend, OR and this winter has been brutal. I've never so much as almost slipped even on long stretches of sidewalk covered in 2+ inches of solid ice.One note, I'm typically a size 7.5 or 8 and had to return the 8's because they were extremely small. The 9's worked perfectly. Save yourself some time, money and frustration by sizing up. I considered buying Sorel's over these, but they are $150+, not any better-looking I think, and all of the styles I have tried are very heavy.Thank you Amazon. Crocs had discontinued this item. After reading ALL the reviews saying to order 1/2 to one size bigger I ordered a size 9, since my size is 8.5 and I have somewhat wide feet. They were a bit snug in width but way too big in length. Returned and ordered a size 8. Tried them on with thicker wool socks and.....perfect fit! Still snug in width but not uncomfortable. They are beautiful! Originally wanted to buy the UGG version but these are just as beautiful, very similar looking, and about $180 cheaper. I wore them once and they are very comfortable and warm. I walk a lot so will see how they do in the Chicago winter.Fits to size. The boot seemed a little tight at first but was definitely able to stretch out the more you wear the boot. Very comfortable. I live in an area where it’s easily 10 degrees on the hottest parts of the day and my feet were still warm. Water proof to the ankle. Would most definitely recommend. These were really warm and light. They didn't have my size so I ordered a size up and they were way too big, so I had to return them. If they had my size in black I would order in a heartbeat, I have looked everywhere for these and they are very hard to find.I bought these to wear on holiday in Switzerland and generally for walking and general pootling about. Very very comfortable boots, warm and snug . Fur lining is great and can be worn folded up or down.Love these boots fit well and really snug. I have bought them for a skiing holiday but haven't taken them off since trying them on. Similar to Sorrel in looks but so much more comfortable and affordable and less bulky. Hope that helps.Just too loose all around reallyBrilliant and cosy
