So, I work in a restaurant and I work a lot! Standing 12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week, you could say I live in my Crocs. I was looking for a pair of Crocs that would be closed toe and closed heel, also, I don't want them to be fug and super wide, like Bistros. I shouldn't wear Kadees (holes in the toes and almost a slingback heel) in the kitchen, but I do and I love them. I never have foot pain and only have achy knees when I have 80 hour work weeks (which is no fault to the shoe, I stand on concrete floors. You work double full-time hours, you're going to be sore, it's inevitable). I have high arches and have always suffered from foot pain, so good shoes are a must for me. Sadly, I wanted to love Mammoths, but I just can't. Not for work. They will be a good weekend (when I get one) shoe for wearing for a few hours tops. At first I liked the shoes, because they weren't terribly wide (I am confused by the reviews where people are saying they are good for their wide feet) and actually fairly cute! I was concerned that my feet would sweat, but I was willing to brave the hot kitchen to try 'em out. I wore them to work and 3 hours into my 12-hour shift and I was already hurting. My arches hurt, knees more than ached, my feet were soggy, and my toes were killing me! Another 9 hours later and when I got home, the Mammoths came off and the old Kadees went on. Even with the residual pain, I was able to stand long enough to cook dinner for my husband, son, and myself. I didn't find these shoes ran as large as many other reviewers were saying. I normally wear a size 10, always buy Crocs in 9s, this was no different. While they don't fit as snugly as a 9 in a normal shoe would, they fit close to the foot, which I was happy about at first, even my size 9 Kadees tend to flop around a bit. But I think the close fit is what lead to the hurting toes. The material doesn't feel like it will stretch AS much as other Crocs, but I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.
