So, I work in a restaurant and I work a lot! Standing 12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week, you could say I live in my Crocs. I was looking for a pair of Crocs that would be closed toe and closed heel, also, I don't want them to be fug and super wide, like Bistros. I shouldn't wear Kadees (holes in the toes and almost a slingback heel) in the kitchen, but I do and I love them. I never have foot pain and only have achy knees when I have 80 hour work weeks (which is no fault to the shoe, I stand on concrete floors. You work double full-time hours, you're going to be sore, it's inevitable). I have high arches and have always suffered from foot pain, so good shoes are a must for me. Sadly, I wanted to love Mammoths, but I just can't. Not for work. They will be a good weekend (when I get one) shoe for wearing for a few hours tops. At first I liked the shoes, because they weren't terribly wide (I am confused by the reviews where people are saying they are good for their wide feet) and actually fairly cute! I was concerned that my feet would sweat, but I was willing to brave the hot kitchen to try 'em out. I wore them to work and 3 hours into my 12-hour shift and I was already hurting. My arches hurt, knees more than ached, my feet were soggy, and my toes were killing me! Another 9 hours later and when I got home, the Mammoths came off and the old Kadees went on. Even with the residual pain, I was able to stand long enough to cook dinner for my husband, son, and myself. I didn't find these shoes ran as large as many other reviewers were saying. I normally wear a size 10, always buy Crocs in 9s, this was no different. While they don't fit as snugly as a 9 in a normal shoe would, they fit close to the foot, which I was happy about at first, even my size 9 Kadees tend to flop around a bit. But I think the close fit is what lead to the hurting toes. The material doesn't feel like it will stretch AS much as other Crocs, but I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.I have a pair in pomegranate they I bought at the crocs outlet. Loved them so much that I wanted to get a pair in black for wearing when pink shoes aren't an option. They do run a bit big, I'm normally an 8 and I bought my pomegranate ones in a 7 and they're perfect. I'm 7 mo pregnant now, so I bought this pair in an 8 and it works perfectly for my swollen feet. The only reason I write this review is because my "black" shoes are actually grey. I saw black in the store and they were a true black so I don't know if this pair faded from being in a warehouse or transit too long (az heat is powerful this time of year and my order was fulfilled by shoes.com), or what, but just a warning that the black might be too light in color if you need a true black. However, these shoes are amazingly comfortable and them being grey shouldn't discourage anyone from purchasing unless they HAVE to be black for uniform purposes. Also, they are definitely work approprate for an office. I wear my pomegranate ones with skirts at work all the time and get tons of compliment. My old crocs said 8-9 as size so I went up to 9 as I usually do. But this time it didn't work out. This shoe was too big, far too big and looked closer to a 10 than a 9. Thankfully, a colleague also needed a shoe and this fit her so she is now wearing it. She has said that it is comfortable and really likes the soft fuzzy inside. She does wear shoe socks so can't comment on whether or not it makes her foot sweat. Also, she commented that it stretches a small amount. It was a bit tight when she put them on but at by the next day she and the shoes had adjusted to each other. I have noticed that they make an odd clicking sound when she walks but she thinks its more to do with her foot placement than the actual make of the shoe. All in all, she seems quite pleased and if I could find a prime size in this delicious colour I would buy one for myself.I love these shoes, and I really wish Crocs would develop more footwear like this. Not all of us are 13-year-olds who want purple and bubblegum pink with all kinds of bizarre holes and "details." I'm a teacher in a conservative school and what I need are plain, boring, SINGLE COLOR, durable and COMFORTABLE shoes.Crocs' line of "work" shoes are great for nurses and servers, but not for those of us who work in more formal environments. I'm on my feet all day and not interested in heels. My job isn't a fashion show. I don't want "ventilation," stripes, sequins, sparkles, dots, flowers, buckles, chains, eyelets, straps, cork soles, or heel tabs. I jut want the plainest possible flat shoe that is comfortable and comes in black and brown. These fit the bill perfectly, with the added bonus of being waterproof and slip-resistant—which is great for recess duty. My only wish is that they would make a white version.Don't get me wrong. I have pink and purple classic Crocs and plenty of other fun and fancy shoes. I'm not your grandma. I just know what I like for work, and this is it.I personally am very aware of the comfort that the Crocs line offers in their shoes. So when my girlfriend needed "professional office shoes" for a job she was starting, I told her to start with the Crocs line. She looked all over the Crocs website and came upon these. Of course they were sold out in her size, but of course trusty Amazon had plenty in her size.We did read the issue with them being "noisy" and getting particularly warm...but figured it was worth the risk. They arrived and she tried them on. She loved how comfortable they are. She did notice how they can be a little noisy if you wear them without socks, but since she wears them with this socks, the noise wasn't an issue. As far as the warmth issue, she told me they do get a little warm, but no where near close to causing discomfort. Again, because she was wearing socks, she didn't experince any sweaty feet problems with them.Of course everyone is differnt. Experiences can vary with Crocs. Whether it be size issue or comfort issues. She and I can agree that these are definitely worth taking a risk on.Highly recommended.
