I've worn Crocs for years. I love them - I have the traditional ones, flats, heels, boots (their winter boots are seriously amazing and lightweight, yet the warmest I've ever had), flip-flops, etc. My husband, for years, has mocked me for wearing Crocs, claiming that he hates them.We moved into a home that has tile floors, and I - in my cushy Crocs - was fine. My husband goes barefoot or wears traditional house slippers and complains of joint and foot pain from the hardness of the tile. I convinced him one evening (he may or may not have had a few drinks) to try on my unisex Crocs RX clogs to just feel for himself how comfortable they were. He grudgingly admitted that was the case.I waited until these guys went on sale (since your gal ain't made of money) and purchased him a pair to wear as slippers around the house. He went from, "You got me CROCS? UGH!" to conceding, "Well, they don't LOOK like Crocs," to putting them on, face lighting up like it was Christmas, excitedly walking around the kitchen, to by the end of the day talking with barely restrained enthusiasm about how he could even wear them to work if he wanted and OH WAIT HONEY, THEY HAVE LEATHER ONES TOO?These are fantastic. According to our podiatrist, shoes and slippers really shouldn't be worn longer than six months if you have joint or foot issues, so as long as these puppies hold up, it's going to be well worth it to me to finally make sure he's comfortable in our home. And also to finally stop mocking my love of Crocs.THE GOOD STUFF FIRST - I love the look of the Crocs Santa Cruz Clean-Cut loafers and it works great as a shoe to wear around the house and for casual wear when going out as well. It looks good when wearing shorts or with jeans. I bought a couple of pairs of the original Santa Cruz loafers but noticed very soon (after a few months) that the intentionally frayed look of the seam gets more and more frayed to the point where it starts looking bad. That is when I switched to the Clean Cut loafer - Exact same comfort with a cleaner look.BUYER BEWARE!! - I originally bought the Espresso clean cut loafer recently, which worked great. I loved it so much that I just ordered and received the Navy clean-cut loafer today and was shocked to find that the left shoe was clearly larger than the right even though the shoes both say M-11 on the back!! See the pictures attached. After rubbing my eyes in disbelief, I tried them on and confirmed that my eyes weren't deceiving me. When I was considering buying the original Santa Cruz loafers several months ago, I read some reviews that stated that certain colors run smaller than certain other colors, apparently different colors were made in different countries which gave rise to minor size variations across colors. However this was the first time that I noticed two shoes in the SAME PAIR having different sizes. I am scheduling a return right after I post this review. I guess it is the luck of the draw when it comes to Crocs. But after owning 4 pairs of Crocs, I still give it 4 stars for comfort.I could not find a canvas Croc that fit right so I took a risk and put my new shoes in the washing machine. The canvas shrank and they now fit perfect. These are the only shoes/slippers my husband will wear around the house. He needed some comfortable shoes to wear around the house and I felt bad because being a 6'3 guy 200 lb guy slippers just didn't cut it in the comfort area and he was going through slippers WAY too often. I found these about 4 years ago and now every year he gets a new pair. Not that he really needs to buy a pair every year but I think the likes to have a nice new pair to start the year off with. My husband is not the kind of guy to really say he likes something. I usually get a mmhmm, eh or a yep but with these shoes he actually said he loved them and that they were the most comfortable shoes he's worn. He doesn't care about price or anything just says honey can you get me a pair and he gets them every year and for my hubby this is big. With everyone else he does not mind spending but can be very frugal for himself. Well not with these shoes he actually really likes them. He says he wished they made a more casual sneaker he would be comfortable wearing out more and he would definitely buy them, These are hands down his favorite shoe and we will continue to buy them every year just as we have the last 4 years. It is perfect and I really recommend itI got what I wanted for the most part. I wanted a boat shoe style and to have good arch support is a plus!. So here are my observations after one day. I like the look meaning canvas not plastic or foam, I love the arch support. I don't like that the soles of my feet sweat in them. That is why 4 and not 5 star. I read the reviews indicating feet sweating and thought but they are canvas uppers, well that plastic foam insole that gives such great arch support also makes my sole sweat and when you walk on a cold day that causes the foot to get colder than the canvas boat shoes that these replaced. So based on one day I would not likely buy them again, I might change my find after wearing them for a month or two.I find this shoe to be a very comfortable, cool shoe that provides me with good arch support. The insole is very cushioning, and it feels great to walk in them. The navy/stucco color goes great with jeans or khakis. For my foot, I find the insole to provide a bit more arch support and support in general than the insole provided with the Crocs Walu Express, which I own and also like a lot. I may just swap these insoles between the Santa Cruz Clean Cut Loafer and my Walu Express shoes. They fit either shoe. I haven't owned these long enough to rate durability, but so far I'm very pleased. In most brands of shoes, a size 12 fits me perfectly, but I need a 13 in these. However, I also own the Crocks Men's Yukon Mesa Clog Mule, and size 12 fits me just right in that shoe, so I'm not sure why the sizing (particularly length) is inconsistent between different models in the same brand. If you can get the right size I think they are great casual shoes!A shoe that could be for spring and summer walking, driving or for general leisure wear; it was a a driving shoe that they were purchased. The "Crocs Santa Cruz Clean Cut Loafer, Men's Slip-on" is true-to-size in both length and width and, with a canvas upper, it should give a little as wear continues.Within the shoe is a chunky, removable but very textured in-sole - a common feature for the brand although its nature changes between designs - that also has elements of shaping to help correct any tendency for improper stature. Removing the in-soles allows a lot more space in the shoe but probably at the cost of making distance walking more tiring and/or more painful on the feet.Because of the textured upper surface of the in-sole, the shoes may feel quite uncomfortable at first but that normally reduces over the first couple of hours and later be barely noticed. On subsequent wearings, it will be unnoticed. The soles are also textured to provide good grip on most surfaces and, if of the same material as other Crocs worn in the past, should be wear-resistant and provide long service.Pricing is good although higher than the very familiar clog-style older designs that remain available.I ordered this shoe for use on a cruise ship and general indoor time at home. It surpassed expectations and is very useful for driving and town walking. It is not waterproof just like a plimsoll but fits well and feels very comfortable. It was hard to get on at first and needed a shoe horn for a few days but its such a nice fit that this doesn't matter.Like someone else said it not embarrassing to wear like the normal Crocs but quite cool.HOWEVER the toe wore through after two weeks wear on one shoe and on both after a month. I was on a cruise ship so it was only walking on decking and carpets not ashore. I would like them replace and then I would strengthen the toes., otherwise they are only fir for use as slippers or garden shoes.?Now this is where I sound old - - - they are so comfy! There I said it.Now for the actual shoe, I have worn these pretty much everyday for the lasr 3 weeks and gave absolutely nothing negative to say about them.Sizing is spot on, I am on the broader side of average with my size of feet and these fit nicely, the material as expected is supple. They have a seperate insole construction and this has not compacted or firmed up very very happy.I was kind of reluctant to get some crocs partly as I always thought they were over priced, well these certainly are not the cheapest but would say they are very much worth the price. As a bonus these do not come with the dignity drain holes that the regular Croc style shoe has so another win there.I've had several of these CROCS loafers for several years and worn them all out I even wear them indoors as slippers,I have painful arthritic wide feet and these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever tried and have tried many brands none of which match CROCS Loafers, these can be worn without socks if desired, I use medicated talcum powder for lubrication. I normally buy a size up.Very light strong canvas shoe with thick soft soles with removable soft thick inner cushion all of which can be washed in a machine. wonderful simple and practical .Great shoe at a good price. Comfortable (used for Disney theme parks so good for heavy walking) and look good. Sizing, as others point out, is tight. I got the size to match my feet (43) but had to really push my feet into them and prise them off with effort - this without any socks. Couldn’t put them on with no-show socks until they were a little worn. Now that I have used them for a few months they fit better (with no show socks) and go on/come off without a crowbar. They also look better a little worn. If you can get them at a good price and have time to wear them in, they are great shoes and worth gettting.
